Coffee, Wolf and King

Just a quick note before I disappear for my holiday. It seems the date for Great King Four Gods has been decided. Hopefully it doesn't change anymore. And MBC has decided on a rather unusual schedule, in relation to the other dramas being shown now.

'Coffee Prince Shop No 1'

This has been extended for another 2 episodes and should now end on 4th September, with 20 episodes instead of 18 episodes. I think 20 episodes are plenty and they definitely should not extend or do a sequel for this.

'Time of Dog and Wolf'

This should end on 6th September, with 16 epsiodes. Hmm.... I thought it was 20 episodes...Wendy will be so disappointed that it's not longer.

'Great King Four Gods'

This will start on the 10th September and will air continuously for 4 nights (Mon to Thu). Thereafter, it will air on the Wed/ Thu time slot in the following week, that is, 19th September.

Whew! Looks like September is hotting up.

Very, very briefly on Jang Hyuk in Singapore
There will be a press conference this morning at the Asian Civilisation Museum @ Empress Place. I can't be there, so anyone of you who manages to catch him, let me know, ok? Heard he was busy practicing his English...hehe!

And one last photo...taken by another fan. Posted on soompi by Amaryllis

See you all when I come back...! ^^

Autumn, Winter, Spring and....Summer?

I took a break this week... I figured I am to entitle chill out during my birthday week...so apologies to those who have been checking this site daily. ^^

Speaking of break, it's summer time in Korea now and many of the Koreans I know are also going on their summer vacation. Coming from a country like Singapore where seasons are divided into hot or wet, I really like the different seasons in Korea.

AUTUMN (2004)

This was taken on Nami Island in September 2004. I went to Nami Island in 2003, and at that time, there were already quite a lot of Winter Sonata related markings. By the time I went again in 2004, it was literally dotted with sites, pictures, scupltures and all sorts of paraphernalia. Personally, I think it's an overkill. But if you look beyond all these tourist attractions, the island itself is really beautiful. It was afterall, a popular local destination long before the success of Winter Sonata made the island into a sacred pilgrimage for its fans. It's not difficult to get to Nami Island and along the way, you will pass by Chun Cheon, another Winter Sonata site. If you do go Chun Cheon, you must try their signature dish- Chun Cheon chicken.... (tiffany salivating at the thought of it)

Daehano is a fascinating place..not just because of the lively atmospheare, but also because of he architecture. I could almost believe that I was in Europe. Especially when you see flower baskets hanging outside buildings like these.

WINTER (2006)

It was quite a last minute decision but I ended up going to Korea in December last year during winter. Unfortunately I miss the first snow, which came 2 days after I left..Sigh.. This is Sok Cheon Lake. Where? Well, you may be more familiar with its neighbour- Lotte World Seoul. The lake is right next to it. Like most tourists, I wouldn't have known about it as I normally take the subway to Jamsil station if I'm going to Lotte World. But because of a business meeting, I discovered this lake. It was peaceful, quiet and beautiful as I walked by the lake that morning. I only wished I could have been there to catch some of the activities.

I was totally fascinated with these flowers which look like some kind of lettuce to me. They lined the streets in the E Dae Ap area. Or what many of us know as Ewha Women University. It's a great place for shopping trendy women's stuff like shoes, clothes, accessories at very affordable prices. I spent hours there each time, often just to window shop. If you go, do take the time to explore the small shops in the side alleys. They are just as interesting as the main shops along the main street. By the way, does anyone know what the words mean? I know the first line but am not sure about the second line.

SPRING (2005)

Many people go to Japan to see the cherry blossoms during Springtime but there are cherry blossoms in Korea as well. I managed to catch it when I was there in April 2005. It is truely a breathtaking sight when you see rows of the cherry blossoms decked out in full bloom. There are a few places where you can see them but we went to Seoul Grand Park, which is part of Seoul Land. The place is big, spacious and there were many familes there, just enjoying the view. I read that it's a good place for dates as well. I guess it could be romantic as long as you don't meet a bunch of girls, laughing and generally behaving like lunatics..hahaha!

Here's a close up of the cherry blossoms. Pretty huh?

I love pretty flowers. Especially brilliantly coloured flowers like these..which is only possible in seasonal countries. This was taken in the Samcheok Jukseoru or Samcheok Park. What was I doing in Samcheok? Hehe! Obviously it's related to BYJ..read about my trip, Off to see some snow in April here

Hmmm...I just realised that I've not been to Korea during Summertime. It would be great to go there and just complete my album. Wonder if KNTO will sponsor a trip there for me. hehe! (Hint! Hint! Addy)

I will be away next week and so may not be able to blog for awhile. Hopefully I will be able to catch up on some of the dramas this weekend. Thank goodness 'Capital Scandal' is ending next week. Don't know how I would have been able to manage with 3 dramas. Btw, 'Time of Dog & Wolf' is turning out quite well. All the 3 leads have improved alot in their acting but I am especially impressed with Lee Jun Ki. He is really good from what I've seen in the 4 episodes so far.

Not so briefly on Jang Hyuk in Singapore
There have been less sightings of Jang Hyuk for the past week. I heard he's busy training. Hehe! Still some people managed to spot him this week. This is J's story and the autograph that she managed to get from him. Enjoy!

I was chatting on my mobile when I saw a 'petite' sized man dressed in black passing by. He stood near the counter for about nearly 2-3mins, accompanied by a lady and a big guy . One of the girl in our group stood up and I quickly walked towards them....

Jang Hyuk was wearing a black beanie black tight tee and black pants. He was dressed in black from head to toes and wearing sunglasses....He also carried a Gucci monogrammed sling pouch.

He was shy and friendly when we approached him and some passed him gifts. I think he was a bit surprised when we 'appeared' in front of him suddenly.

I greeted him in Korean and bowed, he bowed back. I think he bowed about 5 times when we were with him....such a nice guy...

He didnt speak much....SHY SHY SHY..One of the girls asked if we could take a photo with him and he nodded. So we took turns taking photo with him individually. He was quite stiff though and I didn't dare to put my arm around him. After that I thanked him in korean and bowed.....ha ha, sorry I'm used to bowing when I'm in 'Korean mode'... I then asked him for an autograph and spelt out my name for him.

The big guy was like 'pushing' him towards the lift. So we all shook hands with him as he left. His hand is small...soft and smooth....and fair... Then he was escorted to the lift and went up at approximately 9.45pm....

The whole thing took only about 15 minutess....I could see his fit chest and body under his tight tee....nice bod...his face is very slim and small. I couldn't believe that I managed to see him up close n personal...unbelivable.....

Time of Dog & Wolf- first impression

I've been busy with My Harry Potter and didn't have the time to catch up with some of the dramas. But I did glance through the first 2 episodes of 'Time of Dog & Wolf'.

Starring Nam Sang Mi, Jung Kyung Ho and of course Lee Jun Ki.

Just like 'Air City', the drama got off to a very fast pace start- car chase, gun fight, the whole works and ended with So Hyeon (Lee Jun Ki) being shot and plummeting into the sea in his car. Very dramatic. I am guessing this is the last part of the drama or near the ending of the drama. The second epsiode went back in time, to his childhood.

I haven't had the chance to watch it properly yet so I can't comment too much but I do like what I see so far if only because of Lee Jun Ki mainly. Well, I do like how the 3 actors have changed from the time I last saw them.

I last saw Jung Kyung Ho in 'I'm Sorry I Love'. Of course, he was over shadowed by So Ji Sub but I didn't like his looks nor his character in the drama...too wimpy. So far, in 'Time of Dog & Wolf', he looks different...more matured and I think it also allows him to stretch his acting capabilities. I'm liking what I see so far..though I will have to watch further to see if his acting is any good. But his brotherly chemistry with Lee Jun Ki is good.

I saw Nam Sang Mi in 'Sweet Spy'. Not the best drama but strangely enough I found it bearable except for the strange assistant of Dennis O. Of course, Dennis O probably played a large part in me not abandoning the drama. She's also more matured in this drama and I like her looks in this drama. Hmmm...I just found out that both Jung Kyung Ho and Nam Sang Mi acted together in a 2005 drama called 'My Darling, My Sweet'.

And of course Lee Jun Ki was in 'My Girl', which was the drama that started my interest in him.

In 'Time of the Dog and Wolf', he's cut off his long, wispy locks and spot a new short hairstyle. He's taken on a more serious and darker character. Do I like it? Yes, definitely, I think he looks incredibly good and sexy with this new look. I also like the fact that the character will be a more complicted one that that in 'My Girl'. This will also be a good opportunity for him to convince the rest of the world that he is not girly or feminine...which I've been telling everyone as well.

Of course, it is still too early to say if the drama will do well. 'Air City' started off well and then went downhill halfway through because of the script. This is despite the brilliant acting by Lee Jung Jae and the great transformation of Choi Ji Woo.

So let's just see. But the ost isn't too bad and I especially like the theme song by MC the Max (which I'm playing now on my blog).

See the difference in dressing? According to Wendy of Lee Jun Ki Singapore, who was in Korea to watch part of the shooting, the scene (photo on the left) was originally shot outside Starbucks. The PD reshot it in a smaller, more cosy cafe later. Hence the difference in clothing. Must say I much prefer the dark suit. That grey suit does not work with that tie lah. And Nam Sang Mi looks better too with the shorter hair sttyle. hehe!

I really like men in uniform...

Briefly on Jang Hyuk in Singapore
He was spoted at Bras Basah Complex on Friday evening at about 6.30pm, wearing a beanie and sunglasses. What on earth is he doing in Bras Basah Complex???? Buying art materials? That man sure turn up at the strangest places. You think he will go Causeway Point next? Maybe the zoo?

And last night, I was told he went pubbing. A fan saw him at the hotel when he came back, slightly flushed. Hehe! Wonder where he went.. St James? MOS? And will he be going out again tonight? Stay tune as some fans will be trying to catch him tonight. Haha!

And this is the photo that A managed to take with Jang Hyuk on Wednesday night. Cute in that Chinese kungfu shirt right? (Please do not hotlink the photo). She's also taken a photo with Fann Wong and Robin Leong. Now all she has to do is take a photo with Jason Scott Lee and she would have a photo with the entire cast of 'Dance of the Dragon'. ^^

Filming supposed to start end of July.

And before I go... one last photo of Lee Jun Ki. I've always like his eyes...they are really very expressive and they were what captivated me when I first saw him.

Apples and cafes

Coffee Prince No 1 is getting more interesting and this week's episodes 5 & 6 were really good with many funny scenes. Poor Han Kyul (Gong Yoo) finds himself developing feelings for Eun Chan (whom he believes to be a a guy) and thinks he may be becoming a gay. He's going to see a psychiatrist in next week's episodes. Actually I remember that was a similar theme in the movie 'He's a Woman, She's a Man' (金枝玉葉) starring the late Leslie Cheung, Carina Lau and Anita Yuen. But I think so far, this is funnier.

Anyway, in episode 5, the Cafe Princes went on a trip to pick apples.

This reminds me of my first trip to Korea. We were on our way to Chaum Beach('Winter Sonata') and had a bit of extra time. Our guide asked us if we wanted to go to an apple farm, which was along the way. Hehe! Of course we said yes. It was a first for many of us including me. ^^

Hehe! Me and my apples.

I wished I had a ladder though as I could not reach the nicer apples at the top. It was really fun and the appples were very sweet.

And I wish I could have a drink in the Coffee Prince Shop No 1 as it looks really nice. Actually there are many of these such nice, cosy cafes in Seoul, espeically Gangnam and Apejung.

The vicinity where Gorilla in the Kitchen is located (도잔공원) has many cafes and restaurants. There was a guide published in one of the fashion magazine that I brought in last year. The next time I'm in Korea, I'm going to try some of them out. Hehe!

Click on the pictures for a larger picture.

Gorilla in the Kitchen

I went to Gorilla in the Park last year. It is of course one of the must visit place fo BYJ fans as it's opened by him and is one of the place where there is hope of seeing him. So Ji Sub has also been spotted there often enough as well. Not sure about Lee Na Young though. Hehe!

I like the food and the decor. Seriously, the food is good, even Li Yi of Yes93.3 said so.

But frankly, I still prefer tea and O'Sulloc remains one of favourite. ^^ I love the desserts especially.

Aiyah, I want to go apple picking and have a drink with the Cafe Princes.

Bits and pieces on Jang Hyuk in Singapore
He was seen at Century Square on Wednesday. What on earth was he doing in Tampines? Alamak, if he is going to immerse and familiarise himself with Singapore, ask him to come to Bishan leh. And A is extremely happy as she finally managed to see him last night. haha! Ok, now I must go get the details out of her.

Latest update on Jang Hyuk

I never knew Jang Hyuk had so many fans. Guess most of them are very low key... hehe!

Anyway, my handphone has been ringing practically non-stop with sms and calls. I've been getting quite a few emails. The K networking system is working at full speed. Thanks 친구. ^^

Ok...He's staying at one of the hotel in the suntec vicinity and should be there for 2 months...but don't know if he's staying there for the 2 full months or flying in and out. Filming supposed to start proper next month or so I'm told.

There should be a press conference soon.

And he was spoted at Central Square today. Don't ask me what he was doing ok...coz I don't have the time to rush down. I do have to work you know...

But one thing for sure...he should be filming at some of the well known places in Singapore and I'm pretty certain Orchard Road will be one of them...just don't know where and when.

So...keep your eyes open... hehehe!

And oh... he speaks English well enough. Well, as it is a hollywood movie, it will be mostly in English.

And May Choon says he is very nice after meeting him last night.

Ok...I want to see him in action. Preferably see him do ballroom dancing. Can people update me please? And Urs has offered to be his teacher for the ballroom dancing.. Urs...you should contact the production company lah. :p

To answer Han's question on Jang Hyuk's and Fann's height. I was also curious so I did a little check last night. hahaha!

Fann Wong is supposed to be 1.71
Jang Hyuk is supposed to be 1.77

According to wikepedia.

If anyone of you take any photos, please post ok..?

This is so exciting!

Jang Hyuk dancing in Singapore

I was going to have tea with a couple of friends tonight when one of them received an sms suddenly- 'Jang Hyuk in Singapore! Filming with Fann Wong!'

Well, that caught all the 3 of us by surprise. And it got Urs really, really, really excited. (Urs- I think my right arm got bruise liao).

Anyway, we spent the next 15 minutes or so trying to figure out if the news was for real and what movie could he possibly be filming in Singapore. Finally, I sms a couple of my contacts and bingo! We got confirmation.

Yes...he's in Singapore now....just arrived hot off the plane on 16th July, at 9.45pm.

So what movie is this?

Ok....hold on to your chair... he's going to be filming his first hollywood movie! Yes! In Singapore! No less!

Dance of the Dragon

He will be acting together with Jason Scott Lee, and our very own Fann Wong and Lim Kay Tong.

Jang Hyuk

Fann Wong

Jason Scott Lee

OK, before you get excited, Jang Hyuk is not the main lead. Jason Scott Lee is. ^^

Produced by Eastern Light Film Productions, it will be filmed in Singapore for the next couple of months.

Jason Scott Lee (well known for his role as Bruce Lee in the 'Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story') is Cheng, a martial arts champion (this is not surprising) and is Fann Wong's boyfriend.

Fann Wong is a ballroom dancer (this is also not surprising as she can dance).

And Jang Hyuk? He plays Kwan, a young (he is 4 years younger than Fann in real life), aspiring ballroom dancer from China, who comes between Jason and Fann. HUH?

Jang Hyuk can dance meh? And ballroom dancing? Ok, ok.... I shouldn't set my opinion so early...but see, I kept thinking of this scene.

So it's kind of difficult to think of him in this kind of scene:

Hmm....

And oh, Lim Kay Tong, a very respectable veteran actor will act as Kwan's (Jang Hyuk) father. I can't seemed to find a proper picture of Lim Kay Tong, but you watch a trailer of one of his old movie, 'Perth' here.

This is going to be interesting.

Anyway, it seems the production company is looking for help as extras, BTS assistance etc. So if you fancy being up close and personal, you can try out for any of these part-time jobs. Go here and here for information.

More information on IMDb and on Fann Wong's fanclub

Now, I'd really like to see him in action, so if anyone has any information about the filming sites, please, please tell me hor.

W, who went to the airport tonight, said that he's good looking and very fair. hehe! Alamak, she also shook his hand! I should have gone too....!!!!
